You started this thread saying that USCIS has a "deadline" for completing stuffs last Monday or last last Friday.... All of us trusted you that time - Could you please give us a responsible answer or status Update.

I guess forum is all about sharing information that we gather from different sources. No body can assert anything not even USCIS. They open up the gate for all July filer, then closed it and then re-open it again when many protested. So, when someone shared the news that USCIS is not going to accept the july filings, everyone mocked him but that came out to be true.
Forum is all about sharing information. It depends on our judgement as how much we want to believe on that. Srikondji shared some information which he learned from the CRs, now it's up to you if you want to blindly follow that or use that information as a way to curb your anxiety.
People started cursing logiclife when he posted about the FAQ4 to be released by friday and it didn't. But it did came after 2-3 days. So someone who shared that info with Core might have just said we are trying our best to come up with FAQ4 and will release it by Friday and core shared that info with everyone. But that doesn't mean that people should take that info as if it doesn't come on Friday, it will be the end of the world and core should loose his credibility. FAQ4 did came after couple of days and all those people who were cursing logiclife were no where to be seen.
If you put up a clause that no-one should share the info, unless you have a word from God, I guess we'll not have more than 2 or 3 threads here.
So guys..bottom line is stop fighting over what someone said or not, concentrate on what you are doing about it.
As someone rightly said, "Listen to all but do what you think is right". There is similar adage in hindi but I'm not using hindi so that everyone can understand it.

I just spoke with an Immigration Representative of my Senator. She knows me as I met her last year with my employer for my other issue.
She just informed me that we are (Not only we but whole Congress) shocked with un-precedent action of DOS/USCIS for July VB. Senator's Washington DC office is working on this issue including immediate legislative relief to Employment Based immigration. She is well aware of whole drama of July VB. I am going to call Washington DC Office as well.
I encourage every one call to their Senator and HR and speak with Immigration Representative. I think first time media and lawmakers have acknowledged the problem of Employment Based Immigration.

I have seen my friends refinancing, received mixed results.
Few say, can not approve loan because of temproary status (They have no answer for why they allowed last year when purchasing the home).
Same guys were able to get it done thru other banks.
EAD - is not popular as H1B in the financial area. They don't understand. You have to give this as a supporting document along with your H1B Visa and I-797.

USCIS to Issue Two-Year EAD for I-485 Waiters at End of June 2008
The Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security announced on 06/09/2008 that the DHS would start issuing two-year EAD beginning from end of June 2008 for the I-485 filers. Hooray!
Announcement: "I'm also pleased to announce that we will be extending the validity period of the employment authorization documents that we issue to individuals who are waiting adjustment of status to lawful permit residenture or in colloquial phrase, the green card. Currently, adjustment applications are granted employment authorization documents with only a one year maximum validity. Beginning later this month, we'll start issuing these documents with a two-year validity period for aliens who are waiting adjustment of status if their application is expected to be pending for more than a year. This, again, is eliminating a persistent source of frustration for workers who are here, who have a pending adjustment application but have to go and renew their employment documents every single year. It's going to cut the paperwork there."

Please write to Sen.HILARY CLINTON expressing your dissatisfaction or concern with regard to failure of Sen.Cornyn Amendment. It's critical that we as Indians get her opinion on this issue. She voted NO on this amendment DESPITE the indian lobby contributing to her campaign. Also its likely that she might become our next president.
Obviously, Sen.Obama does not care much for Indians!

As explained in the first post of this thread the current plan: is to write to ombudsman, service center etc and explain why this I485 denial is wrong. The letter format and addresses are provided in the same post. I request members to email ombudsman the letter - since their office got some attention on this issue its best time to send more. All you have to do is paste the letter and add your personal info and send email - take a few more minutes to print it and send hard-copy as well, just in case if they ignore emails.

Considering all these 750,000 I-485 filings in next 1 month sounds a reasonable estimate.
Many who had labor pending under the old system, applied in PERM also. So it is 144k minus duplicates. But, I have no idea know many are duplicates

I think IV has done a lot in just 19 months and with the core team, who understands every issue (BEC, retrogression, namecheck, etc) and working diligently to bring a practical solution, should bring a sense of comfort to all of us that our prayers are answered in the form of IV.
