we are planning to start an LLC as a group of three here......one of them being in india.i was wondering about the tax issues for a member of an LLC if he is based in India.Can he get an tax identification number.thank you.
Yes you can have international partners in LLC but they also need to pay tax, Unless it is a single member LLC , when you get taxed as individual otherwise you get taxed as a corporations. I think it is better to ask an accountant on how to include the international partner

Do you worry about your GC/EAD or saving your money. From your posts it look like you are more interested in getting your money back than the eligibility to file for EAD.
this is not my agenda, and by the way am not asking USCIS to give back my money which i paid in fees, i have that much sense, if they dont accept my app then they dont draw my money. first read my post properly and then comment and am not living in any dream, when USCIS can do anything they can do this one too. and this is my opinion not IV's. I'm sure IV does not agree with you and that's not the IV goal. Focus is on to make USCIS accept what they promise and that is accepting the applications files on July for AOS.
What you are trying to do is twist your own agenda of getting your money back by making it as an IV goal. It's not a bad thing to save money or asking the money back from USCIS, which you anyway going to get when they reject your application and send your check back. As far as attorney's fees are concerned, lot of attorney's are going to refile without any charge or for some additional meagre fees.
Now the decision is yours, whether you want to get your money or you want the eligibility to file for EAD/GC/AP.

I am silent reader on this site from last one month. It is great to know lot of people are working hard behing the scenes and really appreciate what IV has done regarding bulletin fiasco.

We should learn something from USCIS.. If they have worked hard for 48 hours on last weekend, we should work more this weekend and do whatever we can to help core members.

What is the visa or immigration status of a person who has H4 visa and 485 pending (has EAD also)?
It seems banks do not understand anything other than Citizenship, GC or H status.
(1)EAD is NOT a status. Your status should be AOS, or H1B, L1, TN or whatever.
(2) I personally know more than a dozen people (including myself) who hgot mortgages, and this was not even an issue.
(3) You have a horse's ass for a lender. Just go to another bank. Countrywide is quite good, in my opinion. Go directly to them, not through a broker.

When a girl comes to US for a job as a nurse and starts earning a good salary. The parents try to get some money from her. they build good house to make a show. Once the money starts pouring in, the (brother)son wants to do some business, build a house, the relatives start. My wifes relatives (dad's sisters) called up for money. " you guys are earning good in US, we want to build a house. When can you send me couple of lakhs".
I hate south indian nurses who came to US alone for jobs and more than that their parents who send them to earn money. I married a south indian nurse. The expectation from a daugther is more than a son because they tell their daughters once you become a nurse and go to US/UK or elsewhere i will start a business. "Our neighbour's daughter is in UK and they have a good house." Another great thing is once the girl is a nurse, guys come running to marry them and enjoy their life raising kids and the wife works at the hospital. I know several guys who got a green card through a nurse, works part time and take care of the kids. In that case the girl buys property at her dads house settles under her dad's wishes and should not do so when they married a person who earns the same salary as hers.
I really don't understand the meaning of marriage if its like a slavery.
My suggestion to those who are not married,
Marriage is very good if both of them know their responsibilities. Before marriage know each other for more than 3 years then get married. talk about whats their thinking about marriage. IS she going to change her last name after marriage. This seems small but the surroundings make the life miserable after some years. How are you going to control the finances etc..
As one of the old hindi dialogues, before marriage ... like moon(chand), after marriage .. like suraj (sun) and after having a baby - like a fire(juala).

Good they have seem to have read recently published IV analysis and recommendations and provided a much more detailed bulletin this month for the community.
agreed. kudos to IV core to push for more detailed explanations without which proposals for fixing this backlog also becomes difficult.

got FHA loan on EAD..... My EAD was is expiring in July.... So they were skeptical... I showed them FHA guideline.... showed old EAD and all previous 797s.... they approved 30 Fixed FHA.....

Why is there so much discussion surrounding this stimulus package, I thought all of were highly skilled, high educated clique who made the big $$.
I have seen numerous occasions where people boast of large pay packets, bill rates, and now this is a measly $1,200, an amount that could be made with working 2 days is generating such a huge discussion. This does not add up???

Receipt date is not the date when the application reaches the service center. It is infact the date when your application is entered into their internal system which could be several days after the application has reached the service center.
How sure r u about this?? I think it is the other way around.

I think we will see a renewed activity on IV forums in 2009. I still believe visa recapture bill like HR5882 has a good chance of getting passed. It may not get passed in this congress considering how few working days are left and presidential elections in November. But in 2009 the bill should gain new momentum with new congress and new president in office.
Also, by that time EB2 dates will be again retrogressed and those impatiently waiting for their approvals today will be back to support new action items. Please don't take this as spiteful wish against EB2, I'm EB2 myself! Just that I don't think everyone who is current now will get their GC before October 2008. For once I would be overjoyed if I'm wrong on this one :)
True, once the people realize that they are close to GC they forget all tasks and move on to the other forums (R2I or USC or whatever) there are very few who actually stay on and help add this to the fact that most of the EB3-I's got fed up with the nonsense going on (most were only looking for a sounding board to voice their dismay, instead they were reminded of the caste system). So EB2's stop working because their PD is current and EBs stop because there is little hope/chance/help. We can dissect the VB as much as we want, the fact of the matter is that EB3 as a whole and EB3 (india &China) in particular are screwed big time. There is hope in the Logfren bills but the congress seems to have other 'important' issues to discuss.
We should take the campaign to a new level move from individuals to involving groups and compaines. They have more money and power to make things move. EB3 & EB2 discussions will go on for ever, we can either decide to wallow in our sorrow or do something. Lets identify groups who can help us and write to them. Each EB should talk to his/her HR and ask them to write a letter to their congressman/Senator it will have a bigger impact.
